January 30, 2010 - Bill Bergan Invitational
University of Iowa - Rec. Center

I knew when I went to bed Friday night that I was going to a track meet on Saturday.  I just did not know which one.  The women were in Mankato - about 2 hours from my place.  Some of the men were at Stout - about 2 hours from my place and a bunch of the men were in Iowa - just under 3 hours from my place.   As I pulled out of the driveway, I was still not sure.  When I got to the highway, well, the car justed headed south - totally of its own volition.  A natural instinct I guess since I did have one son who attended Iowa State University.  Besides, it was a great day for a drive and I wanted to see the snow drifts down there.

It was fun.  A minor glitch....somehow in pulling my cameras out of the car, I shifted the exposure setting on one of them, so the first 100 shots or so with that camera were underexposed until I noticed - sorry to the pole vault guys - it was mostly your shots that got messed up.  If I were a real pro, I would remember to check my settings before I started shooting.....!

I hope someone who attended the Women's meet at Mankato will send some shots.

Have a great week!

January 22 and 23, 2010 - Jack Johnson Classic
University of MN Fieldhouse

Sorry - I missed this meet.  But, the good news is that Jim Gagnon was there.  You can find his pictures of from January 22 and 23, as well as the Minnesota Open at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mnirisguy/.

Thanks Jim!

January 16, 2010 - Minnesota Open
University of MN Fieldhouse

Better day for a meet, safer travel and not so cold!  Had a morning celebration with a bunch of women that were in my high school class.  It was fabulous and I was torn between staying with them and coming to the meet...  The bottomline, I arrived a bit late.  That combined with the fact that a bunch of the women were in Nebraska created a unique shooting day for me.  I actually shot fewer than 2,000 frames!  I know, you are stunned.  Well the good news is that it let me get through them faster and get them posted.

Hope you enjoy them.

January 9, 2010 - Northwest Open
University of MN Fieldhouse

First meet of the year and of the decade!

This always a fun meet, a chance for the parents to chat, to meet new friends, to share time with recruits and all that.  Thanks to all who pointed me in the right direction of the red shirts.  I tried to capture everyone, but as usual not every shot turned out.  So, if you don't see a picture of your or your friends, make sure that I know who to aim at!

See you next week  - Becky
